In order to increase the academic gains of your child, the work done in Title I will require a team effort. This team is made up of teachers, parents and students, each of which has their own separate responsibilities.

As a teacher, I am an important part of the team. I believe that Title I is an important part of your child’s educational program and I will support and encourage your child in the Title I program by:
  • Meeting with your child on a daily basis to teach reading and/or math strategies to help him or her become an independent learner.
  • Using high quality, researched based curriculum and assessment with your child.
  • Sending home Title I progress reports four times per year with report cards.
  • Being available to answer questions or address concerns.
  • Being available at parent/teacher conferences (twice a year), or parents may schedule a conference at other times by calling and making arrangements.
  • Being available before or after school daily, or during a scheduled time during the school day.
  • Providing parents opportunities to volunteer in the classroom.

  • Helping your child with assignments.
  • Attending Title I meetings
  • Volunteering in classrooms Monday- Friday to participate and observe classroom activities.
  • Contacting the Title I staff by phone, email, or personal visit if questions or concerns arise.
